Plasmodium falciparum Blood Smear Images
These datasets contain images with Plasmodium falciparum as the species of interest. Plasmodium falciparum is a parasite that causes the most severe form of malaria in humans.
It is the most prevalent species of Plasmodium parasite. This parasite is particularly prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa, where it accounts for the majority of malaria-related deaths.
